GVHS Class of 1965 60th Reunion - September 20, 2025
An email has been sent to all class members who have provided an email address over the years. It announces final plans for our 60th Reunion and cost ($50 per person). Please let us know if you did not receive this email. US Mail copies of the email will be sent to class members who currently do not have an email associated with their name.
The Reunion party will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 4pm - 8pm. The location will be the West Chester VFW Post 106 at 837 Lincoln Ave, West Chester, PA 19380. Cost for Saturday night is $50 per person.
A Response Form is on the second page of the email. This needs to be mailed back to the reunion committee (address is in the email) along with payment no later than August 15th.
There is a second option indicating that there will be a Friday night "Meet and Greet" (9/19), but the location has not yet been determined. Please indicate that you will (or will not) be attending the Friday night Meet and Greet, regardless if you are planning on being at the Saturday night party. The location for Friday night will be determined by the number of people responding, and details will follow at a later date.
There are two lists of class members on our website (https://www.gvhs65.org): Found and Missing. Please review these two lists and let Wain know if you have an update/correction, or an addition of email for someone else. As you will notice when reviewing the Found page, there are a number of class members listed as Deceased; if you know of a class member who is not on that list and should be, let Wain know that too. If you see a class member's name without an email address and you have been communicating with that person, please forward this email to them (those members without an email listing will not receive this email).

Ruth Gold West 1927 - 2015
Ruth Gold West passed away on October 12, 2015. Many members of Great Valley's Class of 1965 will always remember Miss Gold as a teacher who left a very positive mark on their lives. For that matter, MANY students' lives from General Wayne, Great Valley, and Malvern Prep were impacted by her teachings in Biology. In tribute to her many years of teaching and the many lives at Great Valley she touched, the Great Valley Class of 1965 would like to plant a tree on Great Valley's property with a small plaque.
If you would like to contribute to the establishment of this memorial for Ruth, a fund has been created and is being managed by Class of 65 Elaine (Kulp) Marziani who was Ruth's care giver leading up to and including her final days. Donations can be sent to Elaine at 23 Fairview Road, Paoli, PA. 19301 and made out to the Ruth Gold West Memorial Tree Fund. Elaine with be coordinating the tree's procurement and location, as well as the small plaque. This fund will be closed after December 31, 2015 – all contributions should be made by then so that an appropriate tree and plaque can be selected for spring planting.
