GVHS Class of 1965 60th Reunion - Save the Date!
The following email has been sent to all class members who have provided an email address over the years. If you know of anyone who did not receive this email, please forward this to them.
The Great Valley High School Class of 1965 60th Reunion Planning Committee has established a date/time and location for our upcoming reunion. The Reunion party will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 4pm - 8pm. The location will be the West Chester VFW Post 106 at 837 Lincoln Ave, West Chester, PA 19380.
Cost details have not yet been worked up because we need an approximate count of how many class members and guests will be attending. Once that number has been roughed out, a formal invitation will be sent with costs and Reunion party details.
A Friday evening informal "Meet and Greet" is in the works, but no details are available at this point. We are looking for a location a large group can gather (at no or low cost) with a cash bar available. Details will follow in the formal invitation, but no attendee count is requested - it will be "be there if you can make it".
At this point, the committee is almost certain the cost per person will not exceed that of our 50th reunion ($55/person in 2015); most likely will be less than that. But, we need to know who plans on attending and how many. If you plan on attending the Saturday affair in West Chester, please either reply to this email, or send an email to Wain Schroeder at niaw11@gmail.com, with your name and how many will be attending in your party (ex: yourself +1?).
There are two lists of class members on our website (https://www.gvhs65.org): Found and Missing. Please review these two lists and let Wain know if you have an update/correction, or an addition of email for someone else. As you will notice when reviewing the Found page, there are a number of class members listed as Deceased; if you know of a class member who is not on that list and should be, let Wain know that too. If you see a class member's name without an email address and you have been communicating with that person, please forward this email to them (those members without an email listing will not receive this email).
The committee is hoping to see a large number of you at this reunion. Please try to get your count back to us before April 1st so we can continue planning. This email will also be posted in our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/gvhs65.

Ruth Gold West 1927 - 2015
Ruth Gold West passed away on October 12, 2015. Many members of Great Valley's Class of 1965 will always remember Miss Gold as a teacher who left a very positive mark on their lives. For that matter, MANY students' lives from General Wayne, Great Valley, and Malvern Prep were impacted by her teachings in Biology. In tribute to her many years of teaching and the many lives at Great Valley she touched, the Great Valley Class of 1965 would like to plant a tree on Great Valley's property with a small plaque.
If you would like to contribute to the establishment of this memorial for Ruth, a fund has been created and is being managed by Class of 65 Elaine (Kulp) Marziani who was Ruth's care giver leading up to and including her final days. Donations can be sent to Elaine at 23 Fairview Road, Paoli, PA. 19301 and made out to the Ruth Gold West Memorial Tree Fund. Elaine with be coordinating the tree's procurement and location, as well as the small plaque. This fund will be closed after December 31, 2015 – all contributions should be made by then so that an appropriate tree and plaque can be selected for spring planting.
